Версия вроде 179.5,но не могу её найти.

дело в том что на сайте НР есть сообщение -
HP LaserJet 3100 series products
Version 179.5 or later of the product software is required for proper functionality within Microsoft Windows XP. The drivers and some of the product software will not be available for download from the Web due to licensing restrictions and size. To install the entire product software, including drivers, it will be necessary to use the current CD.

то есть, этот драйвер они распространяют только на дисках и скачать его нет возможности
